BIG12 Week 4 Quick Snap

It’s time for the BIG12 Week 4 Quick Snap. Time to tell you everything you need to know about Week 4 in the Big12.

CJ Donaldson Will Eat Your Lunch

WVU rolled into Blacksburg and stomped Virginia Tech last night in a 33-10 win. CJ Donaldson is HIM. The freshman TE turned RB at 6-2, 215lbs has racked up 100+ rushing yards every game except against Kansas (where he scored 2 TDs). Had this article gone out yesterday, it would’ve said he was the only reason worth tuning into this game for. That turned out to be the case.

A Tight One in Ames

Baylor travels to Iowa State in a game that features two well-rounded teams and two highly thought of coaches. Xavier Hutchinson for the Cyclones is a legit NFL prospect. Whilst Richard Reese is emerging as a guy to watch for the Bears. Look for coaches Aranda and Campbell both having a chuckle together at midfield about turning down the Nebraska job.

They Took Our Coach

TCU and SMU have an under-appreciated rivalry. It’ll be even more heated this year than usual given that TCU just stole Sonny Dykes from SMU to be their Head Coach. The Iron Skillet trophy game should be a very typical BIG 12 game. Lots of offense, defense optional, and a bunch of crazy mistakes. Not to mention, a ton of questionable play-calls.

Two Unbeaten Juggernauts: A Clash of Titans

Kansas host Duke. Yep. The job Lance Leipold has done in Kansas has already earned him a place on every single coach needy school’s wish list of top 5 guys. Mike Elko has done something incredibly similar with Duke and is being similarly touted for new roles. Both teams can score points. And both teams have questionable defenses. The fact that 4-0 is on the line for the winner of this game makes this game both teams’ Super Bowl. Expect both teams to give it absolutely everything. I will certainly be watching this game. This, right here, is why college football is better than literally everything.

Joey McGuire Upset Game: Activate

Texas takes the trip to Lubbock to face Joey McGuire’s Red Raiders. This is an upset cat-nip for CFB fans that don’t follow Texas. Jones AT&T Stadium is a tough place to play, especially when the Red Raider fans smell blood. After Texas took its time to get past UTSA last Saturday, Raiders fans should fancy their team to take the Longhorns to the wire.

The Deuce will Need to be Loose in Norman

Kansas State goes to Norman to face the Sooners. QB Dillon Gabriel has things humming nicely and the defense looks much improved. K-State has, in recent history, been close with OU. They have even beaten them a couple of times in recent years. To do that this week they will need to be on top form. Deuce Vaughn looks like their only dynamic weapon. However, you know the OU defense will be heavily focused on him. I think we could see a game similar to OU @ Nebraska last week. Not to that extent, but a comfortable win for OU.

That’s it for the BIG12 Week 4 Quick Snap this week. Come back next week for more previews from the BIG12.
