Draft Hot Takes

Nathan – Zero Linebackers drafted in the 1st round. I just feel other positions are elevated higher.

Paul – Quentin Johnson to be the first WR off the board and Anthony Richardson to the Lions at pick #6

Phil – Only one wide receiver to be selected in the first round. JSN goes in round one, but a run on tackles, edge and corners means other teams choose to wait.

Jack – How ’bout them Cowboys. Dallas trade up for Bijan Robinson. They would of course be ignoring all their most pressing needs, but they would get everyone talking about “America’s Team” for sure.

Alex – Trubisky to end up at Houston in a trade with Pittsburgh that sees the Steelers move up from #17 to #12. If Houston do not have the option on Bryce Young, they will hold out to day 2 or 3 to draft a QB. Meanwhile, they will take a veteran as a collateral.

Jordan – Only three quarterbacks to go in the first round. Will Levis slides out of the first and is the only QB to go off in the second round. Hooker slips to the third round.

Simmo – Two running backs to be selected in Round 1 with Jahmyr Gibbs going to the Bengals.

 

A Player Not Mocked Who May Move Into Round 1

Nathan – My Ole Miss boy, Jonathan Mingo sneaking into Round 1.

Phil – Jack Campbell, the linebacker from Iowa sneaks in to the first round to the Buffalo Bills.

Jack – Jack Campbell. He’s got Pittsburgh Steeler written all over him, but will thrive wherever he lands.

Alex – Jack Campbell or Trenton Simpson. Both equally incredible linebackers. With so much focus on the quality of the Edge position the natural linebackers are these two players.

Jordan – Felix Anudike-Uzomah. Although there seems to be a lot of Edge rushers going ahead of him I think he sneaks into the first round.

Simmo – Jahmyr Gibbs or Jalin Hyatt.

 

A Trade Or Team Moving Up

Nathan – Saints moving up to the middle for an Edge rusher. Myles Murphy, Tyree Wilson or Nolan Smith.

Phil – Eagles send pick #30 to the Cardinals for Budda Baker.

Jack – Lamar Jackson’s future should be the number one story. If Baltimore are going to move on from him it makes sense for it to be on draft night for a very high first round pick.

Alex – I see the Chicago Bears trading with the Raiders, exchaing #7 and #9 picks. So the Bears, who are in need of a running back, can jump the Falcons to steal Bijan Robinson.

Jordan – Lions move up to #3. They make a trade with Arizona with Houston opting for Will Anderson over a QB. Team scramble. However, the Lions win out the battle and select C.J. Stroud as their QB of the future.

Simmo – Tennessee to trade up with Arizona for the #3 and Minnesota to trade into the first round with Kansas City so they can nab Hooker.

 

How Many QB’s Are Selected Round 1

Nathan – 4, Hendon Hooker misses out.

Phil – 4, with Hendon Hooker missing out.

Jack – It should be 3, but the buzz around Will Levis suggest it will be 4.

Alex – I see 5 quarterbacks going in Round 1 of the draft.

Jordan – See the ‘hot take’, just the 3.

Simmo – Initially, I had 4 but I have a thought that the Vikings will trade back in to take Hooker and make it 5.
