Dynasty Buys and Sells – Week 5
This week has been absolute chaos in the world of injuries with Javonte Williams tearing his ACL, which means he is now out for the rest of the season. If you have him, he is a hold, as you won’t get the value back for what you drafted him for. However, if you don’t have him then test the water with the owner by sending a 2nd round pick for him. In other news, the Dolphins are finally resting Tua a week too late. Whilst Cordarrelle Patterson is heading to IR, Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas, and Amon-Ra St. Brown are some more noticeable ones who won’t miss significant time but are worth keeping an eye on as you consider your Dynasty Buys and Sells.
With all that said and done, let’s get into some Dynasty Buy & Sells – this week, Antonio is contributing his Dynasty Buys and Sells.
BUYS
KENNETH WALKER III
Antonio’s first pick, Kenneth Walker III, was the consensus RB2 in this rookie class. However, he has yet to make an impact on the Seattle Seahawks. So far, he is averaging 25% of the team’s snaps and 5 ATT a game. With Rashaad Penny coming off his best game this season, now is the time to buy while Walker’s price, and stock, is low.
A value worth considering to offer is a 2023 2nd-round pick. That could tempt the Walker owner into parting ways. However, you could also push a player like James Cook and a 2nd to get the trade over the line.
DEANDRE HOPKINS
Rich Cooling talked about this on last week’s dynasty podcast. Hopkins is due to return from suspension in week 7. Therefore, there is an opportunity to buy now below his relative cost. Especially if you are in your contention in your league, as he will add significant value down the strength and into the fantasy playoffs. Some things to consider:
- Kyler Murray with Hopkins has a passer rating of 98.6 with 6,753 yards, 45 TDs and 21 INT in 26 games.
- Kyler Murray without Hopkins has a passer rating of 87.9 with 4,727yards, 25 TDs and 13 INT in 20 games.
A reasonable value for Hopkins would be a 2023 2nd and 2023 3rd-round pick. Be careful overpaying for him.
Notable buys
- QB Jared Goff
- RB Tyler Allgeier
- WR Chris Olave
- TE Gerald Everett
SELLS
DARREN WALLER
Antonio has picked Waller because the Raiders seemed to have an established run game, with Davante Adams demanding a massive 32.4% target share (this number jumps to 43.3% in the RedZone). When Renfrow comes back from injury, it is likely Walter could fall down the pecking order. Therefore, you should sell high before his target share drops too much and his value crashes.
Antonio is suggesting trying to trade Waller for either Dallas Goedert or T.J. Hockenson. However, you should attempt to get Hockenson and potentially a third-round pick on top.
JAMAAL WILLIAMS
Now has come the time to move on from Jamall Williams whilst his stock is at its peak. Jamaal Williams is currently the RB6 and is leading the NFL in rushing touchdowns with 6. However, whilst his goalline work and RedZone touches still remain once D’Andre Swift returns after the Detroit Lions Week 6 bye, the rest of his role is likely to shrink. After all, he is 27 and he is a free agent at the end of this season. Williams currently has a 17-game pace of 1,173 rushing yards, 128 receiving yards, and 26 TDs. This does not look sustainable. Therefore, it is time to sell.
Notable Sells
- QB Bailey Zappe
- RB Rashaad Penny
- WR Robert Woods
- TE Mo Alie-Cox
