Dynasty Buys and Sells

Each Friday I will be walking you through some Dynasty buys and sells highlighting the players you should be targeting and shifting in your dynasty Leagues. If you are ever looking for prices and trade value be sure to check out my survival kit .

Buys

Jonathan Taylor

Taylor is one of the highest-priced assets in all of Dynasty. Thanks to his age and potential he is likely highly revered by the GM rostering him. However, he has not experienced the start to the season many hoped. The Colts in fact have not experienced the start many expected!

So why would he be a buy. Well I still believe in Taylor. I believe in the talent, I believe in the situation and I believe in the opportunity. Despite sharing a backfield with noted passing game specialist Nyheim Hines. Taylor is actually 13th in the NFL in weighted opportunities per game. He is also commanding a 10.5% target share. That is greater than other workhorse backs like Joe Mixon and Ezekiel Elliott.

Taylor is also yet to score a TD. In fact of all skill players in the NFL only Chase Edmonds has more scrimmage yards that has yet to score a TD. Having scored 12 TDs in 2020 we know this is likely to regress as the season goes on. Despite being the RB28 currently a few touchdowns could easily see him quickly rise up the ranks and secure himself as the elite dynasty asset we know he is. If you can buy Taylor for anything less than 3 firsts I am very happy. Alternatively, if you can pivot from a Kamara, Cook, Henry or Chubb and buy back years and get an asset on top it’s a move you need to make.

Zach Wilson

Zach Wilson fell in many rookie drafts because of no other reason than he landed on the Jets. Well through three weeks the Jets have continued to Jet. The revamped offensive line has fallen apart, the receiving corps can’t stay fit and the run game is non-existent. This has meant a raw rookie has been asked to carry the offence and has understandably struggled. People who have just drafted Wilson may well be looking around trying to get out before the bottom falls off their asset.

However, I really believe in the talent and think Wilson has a game that will produce fantasy points down the line. Wilson has an impressive aDOT of 8.8 which shows he isn’t afraid to push the ball downfield despite the receiving corps lacking an ideal deep threat. Wilson also has the 2nd lowest TD rate in the NFL amongst starting QBs which shows he’s likely due some TD regression. If you can buy Wilson for less than the 1st the owner has just paid for him I’d grab that value!

Sell

Matt Stafford

Through three weeks the Rams have been THE team in the NFL and Matt Stafford has already got people talking about potential MVP. Stafford is currently the QB5 despite offering nothing in the rushing department. He is there off the back of an incredible TD rate to date. Stafford’s career TD rate is 4.6% and he has never finished a season higher than 6.5%. Well, Stafford is currently averaging 3TDs per game with a TD rate of 9.6%. To add additional context Stafford is currently scoring 9.2 fantasy points over expectation per game.

I currently have Stafford valued as the QB 12 and worth two 1sts in a superflex league. If you can sell off the impressive start it could be a good value move. If you can move upwards toward a Russell Wilson or Joe Burrow without adding much it could help you this season and longer term.
