Dynasty Week 2 Buys and Sells
Wow what a week 2 that was! Here is the Week 2 buys and sells. I have also managed to get Rich @DynastyIsland to give me his Week 2 buys and sells. I will give you a short bit of info which Rich has given me with his picks as well as my opinions on them and also some trade values.
BUYS
DESMOND RIDDER
Ridder is Rich’s suggestion to buy. His decision was made as the Falcons have started their season 0-2, the Marcus Mariota starting experiment is going to be coming to an end!
Dynasty is a lot about who can get ahead of the curve, getting Ridder now while he’s cheap would be a great buy. Then, if he is the most NFL-ready rookie in this class, he could help the Falcons move forward. If he does this, he could be a name we see in the sell side of the article in the future.
Trade Value
Rich said he would pay a 2023 2nd pick but would start with offering a 3rd and see what he can get.
With Rich opting to trade for the pick, I will try a package deal. I’d throw in Isiah Pacheco and a 23 4th and see how we get on – but I wouldn’t give up more than the 3rd with Pacheco.
JIMMY GAROPPOLO
There are elements to worry about when it comes to Trey Lance. He is going to be heading into his third season in the NFL, having only played in 7 games. He’s only seen over 50% of snaps in 4 of those. However, now this injury delays his breakout season again. Jimmy has always been a solid QB – never a breakout QB1, but enough to be playable weekly. Now, he steps back into an offense he is very familiar with, a decent O line, and a solid defence. If you play superflex, a starting QB always holds value and is definitely worth a buy.
Trade Value
Any starting QB is worth something and to me, Jimmy G is worth about the same as Ridder and that would be a 23 2nd.
Honourable Buys Mentions
- QB Malik Willis
- RB JK Dobbins
- WR Jakobi Meyers
- TE Logan Thomas
SELLS
CURTIS SAMUEL
Rich comes in with another great name as a sell. According to Rich, while Samuel has proven to be a startable player for the first two weeks, a lot of his plays seem to be garbage time, so sell him now and get the maximum value out of him.
Samuel is a great sell at the moment. Continuing with what Rich has said, his TD, 5 of his 7 receptions, and 66 of his 78 yards all came in the second half when the Commanders were 22 points down – classic garbage time scores. As mentioned in last week’s article, selling these types of players after explosion weeks is the best way to do it. Find a team who are struggling to put together a decent line-up and sell to them for picks.
Trade Value
Rich seems to be a bit higher than me on Samuel and would sell him for a 2nd pick.
You should look to sell Samuel for a 3rd round pick or potentially package him and a 2nd round pick, pushing for George Pickens and see how you go with that.
TYLER LOCKETT
Tyler Lockett has only managed 15 targets catching 12 of them for a total of 135 yards which is a slow start for him seeing as he started 2021 with 278 yards and 3 TD. The Seahawks without Russ seem to be struggling and it’s hard to see it getting any better. Therefore, try and flip him now while you can. Lockett had a 100-yard game in Week 2 and finished the week as WR31 overall. These are the types of games people remember. Sell all Seahawks players; they are not going to win you any leagues.
Trade Value
Picks – You should be happy with a 2nd round or 2 x 3rd. Package Lockett and a second to go get Marquise Brown.
Honourable Sell Mentions
- QB Russell Wilson
- RB Tony Pollard
- WR Corey Davis
- TE Cole Kmet
