Dynasty Waiver Wire – Week 6

Welcome to the week 6 dynasty waiver wire! There’s no need to wonder who to put in waiver claims. I’m here to give you some names, and a little food for thought, of who your dynasty pickups should be this week. As always, all rostership numbers are from Sleeper.

Daniel Bellinger – TE – New York Giants – 64% rostered

I don’t know why I checked on Bellinger but at 64% I’m glad I did so I can stick him top of this list, I’d urge you to have a quick check if he is available in your leagues too, as he is looking strong and is an obvious pickup if he is available. His touchdown in the London game was one designed for his abilities and it bodes well for his long-term value that they are using him so much, a 74% snap share backing this up too. An absolute must-grab if you are in the 36% of leagues he is available

Cade Otton – TE – Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 51% rostered

He seemingly had a mini-breakout game last week. But it wasn’t a clear breakout, recording 3 catches for 29 yards. Then this week came and this was seemingly his true breakout. He was on the field for 94% of offensive plays; catching 6 passes for 43 yards. This is could be the last chance you have to grab Otton off your dynasty waiver wire – if he is still around in your leagues that is.

Deon Jackson – RB – Indianapolis Colts – 31% rostered

Deon is becoming a regular in this article, but at 31% rostered I’d recommend you grab that final share that you didn’t take last week. He didn’t manage to find the redzone but did get 13 carries and get 62 yards from them. He also grabbed 4 catches. If Jonathan Taylor finds himself side-lined for another week then you could look at him to take that spot over one of the many failing Running Back options from this week. The dynasty appeal is there too; as he seems to be the clear handcuff to Taylor.

Dyami Brown – WR – Washington Commanders – 29% rostered

One of my favourite dart throws in the 2021 rookie class Dyami Brown is back with a boom. Alright, it’s only two catches but the hope is that the deep shot potential is recognised here. That’s now 8 targets in two games on a young player that was being hyped prior to the 2021 draft. A red flag is that when Dotson returns it would limit his role. However for this week two huge TD’s will stick in the mind of the Commanders’ coaching staff and he is on a lot of waiver wires. If you have the space you could do worse with your dynasty waiver wire additions! Go on, drop Will Fuller now!

Darius Slayton – WR – New York Giants – 21% rostered

I know. I know. This one isn’t a path I thought I’d be going down this season, but when you see a player make a few nice grabs in a team that’s going well and starts showing up as their WR1 you have to take notice. It feels bizarre to be writing this as I felt sure by now we’d be talking about Kenny Golladay, Kadarius Toney, Sterling Sheperd or Wan’dale Robinson as the Giants go to receiver. But here we are! Coming off a 6 catch 79 yard performance at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium on Sunday he is the Giants receiver to target. Marcus Johnson is also a consideration and did get more snaps, however seven targets went to Slayton. He did his work off 54% snaps so that will need to increase. He looks the part for this WR1 gig for now and we have to follow this intuition as a flex option. Slayton is going to be a whole lot more reliable than a glut of RB’s in the coming weeks as those byes kick in.

PJ Walker – QB – Carolina Panthers – 3% rostered

Walker looks likely to start in week 6 with Baker Mayfield out and Sam Darnold still not back. Look, this is a complete dart throw of course. But he will get a shot at this, and do you think it’s impossible he matches the lowly standard that Mayfield has set this season? It’s in his plausible range of outcomes to surpass the extremely low bar that is being the best quarterback in Charlotte. I really like this dynasty waiver wire addition as a stash and hope week 6 goes well. With a new HC coming in off the back of the Matt Rhule firing the opportunity is there for PJ Walker to audition for the job for the rest of the season.

Watch the Drop!

Last note to add, watch out for Noah Brown- WR – Dallas Cowboys, being dropped. He is currently 72% rostered so will not be available in almost all active leagues. However, if your league is relatively small in roster size don’t be surprised if someone drops Brown off the back of Michael Gallup’s return. His two targets for one catch was underwhelming but he was still on the field for 76% of offensive snaps. So could be worth grabbing as for now appears to be part of the Cowboys plans.
