Dynasty Waivers

Two huge injuries rocked many fantasy leagues this week and make the Dynasty Waivers a busy one. Derrick Henry was carrying some teams almost single-handedly to the playoffs. It feels like this could be a make or break Waiver Wire for Dynasty leagues with some very appealing options suddenly available. Let’s dive into this week’s additions (ownership percentages are from Sleeper):

Shallower Leagues

Jeremy McNichols – RB – Tennessee Titans (49% Rostership)

McNichols has already flashed fantasy relevance this season when he caught 8 passes for 74 yards. He has then faded back into obscurity. However, with the Derrick Henry injury likely ruling him out for the season McNichols is suddenly desirable again. If he can command around a 10% target share as well as some rushing usage in hurry up and 3rd down situations he could be a useful flex option down the stretch.

Carlos Hyde – RB – Jacksonville Jaguars (48% Rostership)

Carlos Hyde was an offseason darling of mine. After the Etienne injury, I added lots of shares expecting him to split some work with Robinson. That did not transpire and Robinson has looked every bit the three-down back. However, with Robinson leaving Sunday’s game injured Hyde could now see a featured back role. Even if it’s only for a week or two that is flex-worthy immediately.

Taysom Hill – QB – New Orleans Saints (51% Rostership)

Taysom Hill is a blow your budget player if he is available in your Superflex Dynasty League. He shouldn’t be available in any leagues, to be honest, but if he is, throw 100% of your FAAB at him. Taysom Hill averaged over 20 points per game last season in his four starts. If he starts he is a fringe QB1 for fantasy. Those types of players don’t come around very often! He has league-winning potential down the stretch.

Deeper Leagues

Adrian Peterson – RB – Tennessee Titans (31% Rostership)

In this week’s surprising free Agency pick up the Titans are dusting Peterson. I would cool the jets slightly on any expectations of Peterson. Whilst one of the best Running Backs ever he is 36 years old with plenty of tread on the tyres. He will likely take over the early downs work in Tennessee with McNichols seeing the passing work. He is still worth rostering. After all, he is a healthy Running Back at this point in the season.

Jamal Agnew – WR – Jacksonville Jaguars – (35% Rostership)

Can everyone please just add Jamal Agnew already so I can remove him from this section!!! Yes, it’s a disgusting offence. Yes, it’s a guy that isn’t exactly a sexy name. However, he is commanding volume and showing flashes in an offence that should only improve. Agnew should be rostered in the vast majority of deeper dynasty leagues!

Don’t waste your FAAB

Tajae Sharpe – WR – Atlanta Falcons – (7% Rostership)

Another week another Wide Receiver flashing. I’m not even wasting a roster spot on Sharpe right now. A lot of people are hoping that Sharpe could step into a featured role with Calvin Ridley out for an unknown period of time. The question I have is will you ever feel confident starting Sharpe? If the answer is no then why would you ever add him off waivers? Instead, go and add a backup QB or RB who could be a starter for you in a pinch. After all, we’ve just seen Mike White put up a QB1 performance!
