Fantasy Rankings – The Tower of Power, Week 15

THE TOWER OF POWER – WEEK 15

Weekly Fantasy Rankings

In this regular article, we give you a lowdown of players whose fantasy performances were worthy of our top 20 this week – based on 0.5PPR format scoring.

For the interest of longevity and variety, we have only included the top 6 Quarterbacks in this list. This is to allow other offensive positions spaces on the board. Otherwise, most of the list would consist of QBs! However, we have included the weekly points rank of the players – so you can see where they lie on the overall points scoring for the week.

King Henry reigned for another week this season, but who were the big players for fantasy owners in semi-final matchups?

1. Jalen Hurts, QB, Eagles – 37.8pts (1st)

At the start of the season if someone told me that Hurts would score the most fantasy points in semi-final week I would have told you to get out. But hey its 2020! What a performance from the rookie QB. Completing 24 of 44 attempts for 338 yards and 3 TDs. He rushed in for another TD, 63 yards of 11 rushing attempts. Could he be the guy to win you your ships also?

2. Josh Allen, QB, Bills – 37.7pts (2nd)

Allen is really staking his claim at being MVP this season, with another brilliant performance. 359 passing yards and 2 passing TDs. He also rushed in for 2 TDs and had 33 rushing yards. 4 total TDs for Allen and no INTs, a good day at the office.

3. Ryan Tannehill, QB, Titans – 37pts (3rd)

QBs stole the show this week. In 3rd on the list is Tannehill. He had a total of 5 TDs this week, 3 in the air and 2 on the ground. 273 passing yards and 21 rushing yards. Up next he has the Packers which should prove to be a tougher test than the Lions he faced last week.

4. Kyler Murray, QB, Cardinals – 34.1pts (4th)

Kyler looked like the Kyler from the first half of the season this week. Throwing the ball 36 times, completing 27, 406 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT. He didn’t have his usual big rushing yardage with only 29 yards but did find pay dirt.

5. Lamar Jackson, QB, Ravens – 30.2pts (5th)

Lamar seems to be turning up just at the right time for fantasy owners. Posting another 30+ point week in 2 consecutive games. This time getting it done through the air. Completing 17 of his 22 attempts, he had 243 passing yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT. He also rushed for 35 yards and a TD.

6. David Montgomery, RB, Bears – 28.7pts (6th)

For the fourth straight week, Montgomery has posted at least 22 fantasy points. Having 32 (YES 32!) Rushing attempts, 146 yards, and 2 TDs. Catching 1 of his 2 targets for 16 yards. Montgomery now has 5 TDs in his last 3 games.

7. Tony Pollard, RB, Cowboys – 28.2pts (7th)

Stepping in for the injured Elliott, Pollard stepped up! Carrying the ball only 12 times for 69 yards, he did find the endzone twice. He was heavily involved in the passing game too, catching 6 of his 9 targets for 63 yards. The question is, will Elliott play this week?

8. Justin Herbert, QB, Chargers – 28pts (8th)

One of the favourites for Rookie of the Year, Herbert is having a superb season. Completing 22 attempts from 32, he had 314 passing yards and 2 TDs. He also had a rushing TD, with 14 rushing yards. What a year for the rookie!

9. Calvin Ridley, WR, Falcons – 27.3pts (10th)

With Julio out again, Ridley was there again. Catching 10 of his 14 targets, 1 TD and 163 yards. Ridley has taken his game to another level this season and surely it’s only a matter of time until he takes over from Julio Jones.

10. DeAndre Hopkins, WR, Cardinals – 25.5pts  (=13th)

Hopkins has been hot and cold this season. Normally more hot than cold and this week he was definitely hot! Securing 9 of his 11 targets for 169 yards and a TD. Fingers crossed from another hot week from the star wideout for all those with him in their championship game.

11. Darren Waller, TE, Raiders – 25.5pts (=13th)

Waller has been high performing towards the end of the fantasy season. This week was no different, with another TE1 display. He got another double digit target day, and from that he made 9 completions for 150 yards and a touchdown. Can he repeat the feat in fantasy championship week.

12. Dalvin Cook, RB, Vikings – 24.4pts (15th)

The Vikings Running Back hit the Chicago defense hard and fast, racking up another performance of over 100 yards rushing – 132, to be exact. Adding on a rushing touchdown, and 27 yards from 5 completions, and it’s another top 3 Running Back performance.

13. Derrick Henry, RB, Titans – 24.4pts (16th)

The king has fallen, but Henry still finishes as RB4. The Tennessee back continued his hot streak of form by rumbling through the Detroit Lions. 147 yards and a touchdown – and two receptions for 5 yards – was a good return for the previous fantasy table topper.

14. Aaron Jones, RB, Packers – 23.3pts (19th)

After several up weeks, followed by several down ones, Aaron Jones finds himself as a top 5 Running Back in a very important week. Green Bay fed him the ball plenty of times, and Jones turned that into 145 yards and a touchdown. Add on 3 receptions for 13 yards and you get another vital outing for many Jones fantasy managers.

15. Zach Pascal, WR, Colts – 22.4pts (20th)

Philip Rivers and the Colts continue their rotation of using wide receivers as much as they did with the Running Backs. This week was the turn of Zach Pascal. His five receptions produced 79 yards and two touchdowns in a very important Colts win. It does make it difficult for fantasy owners to tie down a solid WR1 for Indy though…

16. Giovani Bernard, RB, Bengals – 22.2pts (=21st)

Joe Mixon’s absence has made sure that Gio Bernard has returned to his role before Mixon arrived. He had a tough opposition this week, the Steelers. But he managed to produce admirably. One rushing touchdown and one receiving touchdown. And he got those from 83 rushing yards and his sole reception for 14 yards.

17. Marvin Jones Jr., WR, Lions – 22.2pts (=21st)

Another player who has benefitted from a lead role being injured. The Lions have turned to Jones many times in many weeks – and this week continued the trend. 10 of 12 receptions for 112 yards and a touchdown. Jones put the Titans defense to the sword.

18. Melvin Gordon III, RB, Broncos – 22.1pts (23rd)

Another good day for Gordon. He may have been one of the only ones to do so this week as the Broncos fell to the Bills in the Saturday game. 61 yards on the ground gave up two touchdowns, and he also got extra air yards – 4 receptions for 20 yards. If you started him in fantasy, he gave you some good of results.

19. Salvon Ahmed, RB, Dolphins – 21.2pts (=24th)

Ahmed made a promise before the game against the Patriots. He would get over 100 yards. And he kept his promise – 122 yards and a touchdown. Plus he also caught a pass for 5 yards. Can Ahmed keep his significant role once Myles Gaskin returns to the squad? Or will he be knocked down the order? It would be unjust based on this output.

20. J.D. McKissic, RB/WR, Washington – 21.2pts (=24th)

The Washington Football Team is opening eyes this year, and McKissic seems to have become a surprising success for the team…and in fantasy as well! The utility back saw good output on the ground and in the air. 51 yards with his feet, and 56 further yards off 9 receptions – as well as a receiving touchdown. The WFT sit top of the division, so McKissic might have a chance of playoff football this year!
