Howdy there RushNation, I hope all of your week 15 IDP dreams came true. The article is a day delayed due to the NFL’s new edition of “Tuesday Night Football 2021”. Although it could be considered a curse or an advantage to move the games from a fantasy perspective, I personally always welcome an additional day of football.
I found a few notes and odd stats when looking for the streamers this week and thought I would share. (Stats/notes are all per PFF and do not include Tuesday Night Football)
- C.J Mosley is, once again, atop of the solo tackling column with eleven, tied only with Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.
- Nick Bosa led all defenders in total quarterback pressures, and several players tied for the lead in the hit column, only coming into contact with the quarterback twice.
- Fifteen targets made Indianapolis’ corner Kenny Moore II the most targeted player on the defensive side of the ball this week. Dallas’ corner Jourdan Lewis was second in targets with thirteen(neither player gave up a touchdown)
- AJ Parker from Detroit was the player who was aligned in the slot the most this week at sixty-two snaps. He was targeted twelve times and broke up the pass two times; Parker also allowed his opponent eight receptions, a touchdown, and a 110.8 passer rating to the opposing quarterback.
With that said, welcome back to my Individual Defensive Player (IDP) arcadia. If you are competing in the playoffs again, allow me to give you congratulations. Let us keep the good times rolling with this week’s streamers.
My weekly purpose is to find you the top defensive fantasy streamers.
Shedding light on different players that could potentially give you the edge on a position you may have been otherwise doubtful of is my aim.
Nothing is worse than reading a streaming column and realizing most of the players in the article are already rostered. I select players under 8% rostered (via Yahoo) to avoid this.
Together, we will help your IDP roster, shock your leagues, and expand our knowledge of players otherwise forgotten in the “Fantasy Realm.”
(DL) Sheldon Richardson – MIN @ LAR – 1% Rostered- (3.19 projection)
In Sheldon’s last two games, he pressured the opposing quarterback seven times and hit him twice. Before week 12, Sheldon had not logged over thirty-five snaps in a single game. Since week 2, Sheldon’s snaps have not been under fifty-three. Sheldon is more of a safe play if you are looking for stability on a budget.
(DL) Arik Armstead – SF @ TEN – 2% Rostered- (3.55 projection)
Arik is consistently pressing the quarterback every week. In Armstead’s last three games, he has hurried the quarterback twelve times. Opposing quarterback Ryan Tannehill has fumbled the ball ten times this season, and while under pressure Ryan’s interceptions are double that of his passing touchdowns.
Armstead has been known to flush players out of the pocket, and the Titans’ offensive line has struggled in pass protection this season.
(LB) Nick Bolton – KC vs. PIT – 6% Rostered- (4.00 projection)
Bolton had his coming out party against division rival Chargers, combining fourteen tackles and two pass breakups. In coverage, Nick’s assigned man was targeted six times (second-most on the Chiefs), to which Nick allowed five receptions for thirty-five yards.
With seventy-eight snaps logged in week 15, Bolton passed his season-high for snaps in a game. This now is six games on the season where Bolton is getting you over the IDP roster with nine combined tackles. The Steelers have targeted running back Najee Harris seventy-five times and tight end Pat Freiermuth fifty-eight times.
Bolton primarily covers the running and tight end when he is in pass coverage. This week, Bolton is a smash play in redraft league.
(DB) Julian Love – NYG @ PHI – 0% Rostered- (1.89 projection)
In week 12, Julian logged sixty-seven snaps pressuring the quarterback twice and had a handful of tackles. It seems the Giants aren’t afraid to use Julian as an aggressive edge in their play-calling during divisional games.
The only other time he was pressuring the quarterback was in week 5 against Dallas. Love was used everywhere on the defense last week (DL, FS, SLOT, BOX).
(DL) Derek Barnett – PHI vs. NYG – 1% Rostered – (4.31 projection)
(LB) Damien Wilson – JAX @ NYJ – 6% Rostered- (6.22 projection)
(DB) Charvarius Ward- KC @ PIT – 1% Rostered- (5.17 projection)
