Howdy Rush Nation, welcome back to my Individual Defensive Player (IDP) arcadia. My weekly purpose is to find you the top defensive fantasy streamers.
Shedding light on different players that could potentially give you the edge on a position you may have been otherwise doubtful of is my aim. I will also provide fantasy insight on a matchup that I will select each week at random.
Nothing is worse than reading a streaming column and realizing most of the players in the article are already rostered. To avoid this, I select players who are under 8% rostered (via Yahoo).
Together, we will help your IDP roster, shock your leagues, and expand our knowledge of players otherwise forgotten in the “Fantasy Realm.”
(DL) Charles Harris – DET @ MIN – 1% Rostered- (0.00 projection)
The Lions have seen more than a few of their players on defense out for injury this season. While it is awful news, it allows other players to display their skillset and impact their team. Charles Harris has a sack in the past three consecutive games. The coaching staff has bumped Harris’s snaps by the week as he surpassed fifty snaps last contest. Detroit is asking Harris to step up in the face of adversity, and he seems to be delivering thus far.
(DL) William Gholston – TB vs. MIA – 0% Rostered- (3.45 projection)
Gholston’s snap count has been between twenty-six and thirty-two snaps per contest, a rotational player for the Buccaneers interior defensive line. Gholston has brought down the quarterback twice and tackled the ball carrier five times in his last two games. William has never surpassed three sacks in a season; however, that may change by mid-season if he can stay consistent.
(LB) Quincy Williams – NYJ @ ATL – 2% Rostered- (0.89 projection)
Last week was a big one for Quincy, as his team brought home the win deep in overtime. Ninety-seven snaps resulted in eleven combined tackles and being targeted fourteen times in the passing game. Williams is a must-add, and it is a crime that he is only on one percent of rosters.
(LB) Alex Anzalone – DET @ MIN – 2% Rostered- (5.68 projection)
Anzalone has averaged over sixty snaps per game four weeks into the year. Solid, consistent tackling points are what one can expect from Alex. With twelve targets on the year, Alex has allowed all twelve passes to be completed and is responsible for a passing touchdown. With the Vikings’ one-two punch of Cook and Mattison, expect Alnzalone to have the best game of the season to date.
(DB) Chuck Clark – BAL vs. IND – 3% Rostered- (6.55 projection)
Chuck plays the free safety position more than another place on the field. The fantastic thing about Clark is that he is quite the versatile player on the defensive side of the ball. Sixty-two plays in the box as well as just over twenty on the season on the defensive line. As far as IDP goes, he is streaky, but Indianapolis is banged up, and Clark may be able to come up huge for your roster this week.
That is all I have for this upcoming week; a thousand thank yous for reading and good luck this week. Are you looking for more? Check out last week’s IDP Streamers.
My line is always open, and I always welcome feedback of any sort! Here’s to week 5, and as always, happy streaming Rush Nation. Cheers.
