Kesh’s College Fund: Week 6 – Against The Odds
Week 5 is in the books, there were some crushing last-minute losses across the board and Kesh (@Keshy6) went 6-9 in his picks last week and looks to get back to winning ways in Week 6. The weeks results went against the grain in ways Kesh didn’t see happening. Anything above 55% is a good week so let’s get straight into it.
Kesh looks ahead to this week’s college football slate, sprinkling a bit of Vegas in there and giving his predictions on each game from the Top 25.
Please note, all the lines are courtesy of SkyBet at the time of writing. Lines are subject to change.
Florida (-6.5) @ Texas A&M
The combination of Kyle Trask and Kyle Pitts is all I have to say in this one. Florida wins and covers.
Virginia Tech at North Carolina (-4)
Virginia Tech is off the back of a tiring overtime victory against Duke and UNC have washed away the dust after being off for such a long time. They come back well oiled and cover this spread easily.
Texas @ Oklahoma (-2.5)
These two teams have saved Vegas millions over the past fortnight and I would like to stay well away from this game. I hope both teams lose. Pass.
Coastal Carolina @ Louisiana (-7)
This one could be very high scoring but if the Ragin Cajun defence can make a couple of stops they will be able to take home the win. Louisiana money line.
Tennessee @ Georgia (-13)
Georgia taught Auburn a lesson last week hence why the line is so in favour of the Bulldogs but I believe Tennessee can keep it closer than anticipated. I’m taking Tennessee plus the points in this one.
UTSA @ BYU (-34.5)
BYU loves to score points averaging nearly 50 points a game. They’ll open the floodgates once again as they push for a playoff spot against UTSA. It’s risky, BYU plus 5 touchdowns. Why not?
Texas Tech @ Iowa State (-12)
Iowa State shocked me last week with an impressive win against Oklahoma. I think they’ll carry their momentum into Week 6 and will put up points against this Texas Tech team. Iowa State money line for sure. Iowa State spread if you want the big money.
Arkansas @ Auburn (-14)
Auburn is still ranked in the top 15 on reputation alone. Arkansas shocked the world with a win over Mississippi State. This is going to be a tough one. The total is only 45.5 and I can see why. Little team teaser in this game. Arkansas to score 13.5 or more is currently even money – that’s a lump on if I’ve ever seen one.
Alabama (-23.5) @ Ole Miss
Alabama has been playing well this year but so have the Ole Miss Rebels. I think the spread is going to be too much for Bama but they’ll definitely win outright. Bit of a cop-out on the pick but I can’t reason why either team should cover.
Miami @ Clemson (-14)
Clemson will prove to you why they are the best team in football and they’ll prove it to you on Saturday night against a well-rested Miami team. Clemson wins big against the Hurricanes, they cover the spread and then some.
Florida State @ Notre Dame (-20.5)
Florida State is absolutely abysmal. Some second-half heroics saved them from embarrassment last week against Jacksonville. The Irish are rested and they’ll make Florida State the laughing stock of the NCAA. Notre Dame wins and covers.
Missouri @ LSU (-20.5)
Missouri has played Alabama, Tennessee and now face an LSU team who just spanked a Vanderbilt team. The Tigers will be more like Misery after this game. LSU wins, covers the 3 touchdowns and looks to move up in the rankings.
Kesh’s Pick 6:
– Florida -6.5
– North Carolina -4
– Arkansas over 13.5 total points
– Clemson -14
– Notre Dame -20.5
– Louisiana money line
