Kesh’s College Fund – Week 8
Kesh’s College Fund – Week 8
Week 7 is complete, with some shocking results and Kesh (@Keshy6) went 6-6 in his picks last week. Let’s hope that the return of Big Ten football will bring some much needed luck in Week 8!
Kesh looks ahead to this week’s college football slate, sprinkling a bit of Vegas in there and giving his predictions on each game from the Top 25.

Week 8 games:
Illinois @ Wisconsin (-19)
Friday night under the lights. Wisconsin will be without Jonathon Taylor this season but I think they get off to winning ways here on their opener. Their offensive line should still be good but need to get the win percentage up. Wisconsin money line all day.
Syracuse @ Clemson (-46)
After their impressive performance last week putting up 73 points, Clemson will go into Week 8 as nearly 7 touchdown favourites. Very rare to see. Last week was a reminder to all other schools that Clemson is number 1, I don’t think they’ll be able to replicate it this week. Money line is not possible, but 7 touchdowns is far too much. Syracuse +49, they’ll lose but cover.
Nebraska @ Ohio State (-26)
O, H, I, O are back in action and we’ll see the red and white take on Nebraska for their opener. Buckeyes will look to show what the rest of college sport has been missing out and there is definite value here. Buckeyes win and cover.
Kansas State (-20) @ Kansas
This line is far too big considering the two teams. The total is 48.5 and I’ll be taking the over in this one.
North Carolina State @ North Carolina (-15.5)
I cannot trust UNC anymore. Losing to Florida State? Ridiculous! North Carolina State to cover, no way UNC pulls away here. I’m even tempted by NC State to win outright.
Georgia Southern @ Coastal Carolina (-6.5)
I was impressed with Coastal Carolina’s win last week against Louisiana. I’ll back them to continue momentum and take the W against Georgia Southern. I’m not so impressed they’ll cover the spread, but take the money line here.
Florida Atlantic @ Marshall (-17)
These are two teams I do not care for. Sorry any Florida Atlantic & Marshall fans. Pass.
Alabama (-21) @ Tennessee
I don’t know what is swaying more in this matchup. Alabama’s win against Georgia or Tennessee being ridiculed against Kentucky. Either way both reasons lead me to believe Alabama will cover.
Notre Dame (-10.5) @ Pitt
Again, another matchup with two teams who have fallen off pace the past few weeks. I couldn’t pick a winner because both teams are just awful right now. The total is 43 which is so low considering the name brands in this matchup. Take the over, one team will show up and the backdoor cover will come through to hit the over.
Iowa State @ Oklahoma State (-3.5)
This line has moved drastically towards pick ‘em. This could go either way but for the sake of 5 yard college, I choose Okey State here in Week 8.
Penn State (-6.5) @ Indiana
I haven’t heard enough hype around Penn State to back them with the points this week. Nonetheless I’ll take them outright on the money in their opener against this Indiana team.
Virginia Tech (-8.5) @ Wake Forest
I’m loving Virginia Tech right now, but I’m also loving the overs this week. Despite the total being 68, I think Virginia Tech wins this in a close one.
Michigan (-3) @ Minnesota
Jim Harbaugh with only a -3 handicap. I need to say no more. Michigan -3, lock of the week.
Virginia @ Miami (-12.5)
This game is bad defence v. decent offence. Miami is currently 4-0 against the spread and I’ll back them to continue that trend. The Miami money line is where my money is going, though.
Cincinnati @ SMU (-3)
This is going to be a great matchup. The total is only 56.5. Cincinnati is rested after a COVID dilemma. Hammer the over.
Texas State @ BYU (-28.5)
BYU scored 22 points in the 4th quarter last week to cover the spread. This in turn increased this week’s spread, so I’m going to back the underdog in this one to cover. BYU to win outright, but not enough to cover. Texas State plus nearly 30 points please.
Kesh’s Pick 6:
Michigan -3
Alabama -21
Notre Dame @ Pitt Over 43
Penn State M/L
North Carolina State +15.5
Syracuse +46
A big thanks to @keshy6 for giving the @5yardcollege family his tips once more. Saturdays are for rushing, too.
