Mock Draft 3.0- Murf’s Final Mock Draft

Well Rush Nation, today is NFL Draft Day. For the majority of the league, this is their chance to draft the best college talent onto their rosters in order to reach their goals for the 2020 NFL Season. Therefore, I find it appropriate to release my final Mock Draft of this long draft season today, to see another scenario of how things shake out.

I really hope you have enjoyed our draft coverage with all the various Mock Drafts and different ways we have done them, with all the writers having their own takes on the draft. It is certainly going to be the most watched NFL Draft on record. I for one, cannot remember a draft season like this, with so many people covering and writing about the draft. The tools and resources out there now are unprecedented, to give fans the best efforts to review talent in the draft.

Draft tools such as The Draft Network’s Mock Draft Simulator, Matt Waldman’s Rookie Scouting Portfolio, The SIS Football Rookie Handbook, Dane Brugler’s The Beast, The Locked on NFL Draft Podcast, Stick to Football Podcast and the Ross Tucker The College Draft Podcast have all been invaluable to me personally during this process. I will continue to use these even after the draft, in order to gain an edge in Fantasy Football.

However, it is now time to dig into my final Mock Draft. This is based off of some reports I have been following. Without further ado, here is my Mock Draft 3.0:

Murf’s Mock Draft 3.0

1) Cincinatti Bengals
Joe Burrow- QB LSU

This has been done to death. Nothing I am reading is going to change my mind this will be the pick tonight.

2) Washington Redskins
Chase Young- EDGE Ohio State

It appears the Atlanta Falcons have failed with a late enquiry for this pick. The Redskins are just too high on Young. And for good reason.

3) TRADE- Miami Dolphins
Tristan Wirfs- OT Iowa

The Dolphins give up 18,26 and a day 2 pick to make this happen and get a tackle to protect their new franchise QB. But who will it be?

4) TRADE- Los Angeles Chargers
Tua Tagovailoa- QB Alabama

The Chargers have decided to push all in and gamble on Tua, knowing the Dolphins have made their move to select the tackle. An interesting turn of events.

5) Miami Dolphins
Justin Herbert- QB Oregon

The Dolphins appear to be pretty equal on both guys, hence they felt getting ahead of the Giants for a tackle appears to have been more important than securing the QB of their choice. They are happy with the way this plays out.

6) TRADE- New York Giants
Isaiah Simmons- LB Clemson

Dave Gettleman breaks one habit of a lifetime and trades down. However, he still cannot get over himself here and instead of building the O-Line, goes for a very splashy defensive player instead.

7) Carolina Panthers
Derrick Brown- DT Auburn

Panthers select their leader of their defence for years to come.

8) TRADE- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Jedrick Wills- OT Alabama

Another team looking to go all in are the Bucs. With one Tackle off the board, the feel the need to jump ahead of the queue to get their guy, and cough up 14,45 and a high 2021 pick to get their tackle.

9) Jacksonville Jaguars
Jeffrey Okudah- CB Ohio State

This pick has no indication on Okudah as a player. His slide has nothing to do with his talent. It’s purely circumstantial and the Jaguars appear to benefit massively as a result.

10) Cleveland Browns
Andrew Thomas- OT Georgia

Perfect pick for Cleveland here. They aren’t trading back if Thomas is on the board.

11) New York Jets
Mekhi Becton- OT Louisville

Jets panic about the Tackle situation and the drop off and select Beckon. Despite the failed drug test, they are happy with his character and his upside.

12) Las Vegas Raiders
Jerry Jeudy- WR Alabama

Slight change from Mock Draft 2.0, as I have the Jets taking Jeudy in that one. Either way, Derek Carr will be happy, whether it’s Lamb or Jeudy.

13) TRADE- Denver Broncos
CeeDee Lamb- WR Oklahoma

I just can’t see a world in which John Elway doesn’t trade up to get his Wide Receiver 1 on his board. He coughs up a fair whack, but he doesn’t care. Drew Lock has a new weapon.

14) TRADE- Arizona Cardinals
Javon Kinlaw- DT South Carolina

Cardinals miss out on a OT in Round One but pick up an exceptional Defensive Line piece. They struggled to stop the run in 2019. Kinlaw plugs the hole.

15) TRADE- San Francisco 49ers
Henry Ruggs III- WR Alabama

Ruggs has the opportunity to really fulfil his potential here with Kyle Shanahan.

16) Atlanta Falcons
K’Lavon Chaisson- EDGE LSU

Falcons failed for Young, according to reports. They take their second rated edge rusher here.

17) Dallas Cowboys
C.J Henderson- CB Florida

As I mocked in Mock Draft 1.0, the Cowboys get a player with swagger and nastiness. Jones will love this pick.

18) Detroit Lions
Yetur Gross Matos- EDGE Penn State

Whilst Lions fans might not be happy with the trade down, the ability to get 3 extra top 50 players is a little too much to turn down. They start their rebuild with a strong edge rusher who can turn up the heat on QBs.

19) TRADE- Jacksonville Jaguars
A.J Epenesa- EDGE Iowa

The Raiders have traded for Yannick Ngakoue and cough up the 19th pick for him. The Jaguars wanted 12, but the Raiders were not going to do that. So the Jaguars cave and take 19. They draft Epenesa as his replacement

20) Jacksonville Jaguars
Xavier McKinney- S Alabama

The Jags complete their haul by “fixing” their secondary by adding Xavier McKinney.

21) Philadephia Eagles
Justin Jefferson- WR LSU

With the top 2 CBs off the board, I have a feeling the Eagles might just go WR here in a bid to get faster on offense.

22) Minnesota Vikings
Jeff Gladney- CB TCU

Gladney is the best of the rest with regards to CBs and therefore it makes sense he goes to a Cornerback needy team here.

23) New England Patriots
Jordan Love- QB Utah State

I would prefer to see Jake Fromm here from Georgia. However, I feel the Patriots will just pull the trigger on Love here and see what they have in him.

24) New Orleans Saints
Kenneth Murray- LB Oklahoma

New Orleans take a Linebacker. I’ve remained consistent on this.

25) Minnesota Vikings
Terrell Lewis- EDGE Alabama

Not a player you would have seen in too many first round mocks, but the buzz on him is certainly growing. He is a great talent and feel the Vikings will make their move here to fill a big hole with a player who played at a very high level in college.

26) Detroit Lions
Trevon Diggs- CB Alabama

Despite the trade back, the Lions still get 2 very valuable pieces, with a couple more still to be added in day 2. This does seem like a good haul so far for the 3 pick.

27) TRADE- Indianapolis Colts
Jake Fromm- QB Georgia

The Colts decide to make a move and take the 5th QB in Round 1 off the board. They cough up some day 2 picks to their man and get an extra year option on him.

28) Baltimore Ravens
Patrick Queen- LB LSU

The Ravens will be delighted tonight if Queen falls to 28. Versatile LB who can play Mic or Outside.

29) Tennessee Titans
Cesar Ruiz- IOL Michigan

Protecting their newly minted Franchise QB Ryan Tannehill has to be their top priority in this draft. They go a long way to doing that with Ruiz

30) Green Bay Packers
Jalen Reagor- WR TCU

Reagor’s hype is real. A solid number 2 Wide Receiver who can play inside, outside, be a gadget playmaker or take the top off the defense. The versatility will be attractive to Matt Le Fleur and that is why I fancy them to go this route tonight.

31) San Francisco 49ers
Lloyd Cushenberry III – IOL LSU

Cushenberry is a classy centre with some flexibility. The 49ers love flexibility Offensive Line guys. They tried to trade down but couldn’t get any buyers.

32) Kansas City Chief
De’Andre Swift- RB Georgia

The Super Bowl champions add another offensive weapon. This would make a scary offense even scarier as they go on the hunt for their second ring in a row.

Enjoy the draft this evening, or tomorrow morning, whichever is your presence. However, until next time Rush Nation, Keep Rushing!
