Here it is, the moment we have all been waiting for game week one! The NFL season is upon us and we can’t wait for it all to get going. With that, the President’s Trophy is ready and the schedule is set.

Each week I will be driving into the competition’s matchups and keep you updated with how things are looking week to week. Before the upcoming game week, there will be a rundown of all the matchups in the league and any shenanigans that may have gone down between the two teams midweek.

Once all the NFL games are complete and the fantasy points are finalised, you will then get a game week review of all the matchups between FTLS – USA and 5 Yard Rush team – Europe.

Without further ado, here is the game week preview.

Week 1 – Captains

We kick things off with the captains of each team and who they play. In week 1 we look to our Captains to lead by example and set the tone for how this competition moves forward.

For Team USA –
‘Captain America’ (The FTLS Boys) start their competition with a matchup against Europe’s ‘Marvellous McIlroy’ (Freddie ‘the franchise tag’ Hall). The late entry to the competition will have to dig deep as Captain America has already been slated to win after receiving a winning percentage of 81%.

For Team Europe –
‘Team 5 Yard Rush’ (Stocks and Murf) get things going against The US team of ‘We Selected Scut Farkus’ (Shacknado – Brian). This one is a little closer cut but the Win percentage goes in favour of the captains of Europe at 57%.

With both captain’s teams looking to get things going with a win the rest of the teams need to follow suit. Here’s how the remaining teams matchup.

Week 1 – Team Member Matchups

Team Europe’s ‘Roaring Poulter’ (PittsyNFL) goes up against the USA’s ‘JSnakeDFF (Jacob). If all things go well here, team Europe is set to gain a point as Roaring Poulter have been given a win percentage of 69%.

Team USA’s ‘Mr America’ (Ktompkinsii – Kevin) goes for a first win of the season as he faces Europe’s ‘AVFCJPS (James). As a result this is a closer battle. Mr America looks set to take the spoils with a win percentage of 54%

Team Europe’s ‘JoshPattenden7’ (Josh) gets his first matchup against ‘Mericaaaaaa F*** YEAAA’ (DrakePFSA). This one is a closer game but Europe head in with the higher win percentage of 59%

The final matchup sees USA’s ‘GoingFor2DotCom’ (Geoff) taking on Europe’s very own SFB9 winner ‘Benedict Arnold’ (Gary Haddow). This game is slated as the closest game this week. As the US take it with a win percentage of just 53%.

Just going off the Win percentage alone means that this competition is set to be a hard-fought battle. Both teams walk away with a predicted score of 3 points each.

Don’t forget the reason we all love to love and love to hate Fantasy Football. No-one actually knows how these games are actually going to pan out. Everything is to play for.
