For the first time this season, every matchup needed the Monday night games to decide who got the win. There are a few that were pretty much there but just needed the Monday game to confirm it. This truely is a team sport!

Week 6- The Captains

We start the week review as always with the captain’s games. First up Team ‘Captain America’ (The FTLS Boys) went into a 1-4 battle with Europe’s ‘Benedict Arnold’ (Gary Haddow). Benedict Arnold had the early lead but everyone in his team had played before Monday. From there it was a chasing game by Captain America. In the end, it was just a step too far as the final score was 152-159 in favour of Europe.

Europe’s captain ‘Team 5 Yard Rush’ (Stocks and Murf) had a battle of the 2-3 teams as they faced USA’s ‘Mericaaaaaa F*** YEAAA’ (DrakePFSA). Both teams were coming off a loss from last week so needed to make sure they got a win this week. Just like the game above, the Captain was playing catch-up going into Monday night after MFY had all their players play by the end of Sunday. Exactly the same outcome happened here too as it was just too big of a gap for the captain to bridge. The final score was 139-124 with the point heading USA’s way.

Week 6 Team Member Matchups

USA’s ‘JSnakeDFF (Jacob) took on Europe’s ‘JoshPattenden7’. On paper, a 4-1 team looked likely to walk over the 1-4 team. Josh had other ideas and made a game of it. By the end of Sunday, Josh set the target at 165 for JSnake to get the win. JSnake was miles off in the end as Europe gets a big win 165-109

‘Roaring Poulter’ (PittsyNFL) came into this matchup for Team Europe as the only undefeated team in the league. ‘Mr America’ (Kevin Tompkins) was set as their opponent and Mr America took full advantage of a weakened Europe side and handed Roaring Poulter their first loss of the campaign. Mr America climbs back to .500 on 3-3.

We had another battle of teams on the same record. This time it’s two 3-2 Teams. USA’s ‘We Selected Scut Farkus’ (Shacknado – Brian) went up against Team Europe’s ‘AVFCJPS’ (James). This game was super close and went all the way to find the winner, eventually going Europe’s way. AVFCJPS move to 4-2 for the season as WSSF goes 3-3.

The final matchup again had two 3-2 teams going up against each other. ‘GoingFor2DotCom’ (Geoff) went up against Europe’s ‘Marvellous McIlroy’ (Freddie ‘the franchise tag’ Hall). Marvellous Mcllroy started the season with a 2 game winning streak. He followed that by a 2 game losing streak but has now got himself a 2 game winning streak again with a win here. Geoff now sits at 3-3.

Europe takes the lead

Coming into this weekend the scores were all square
Europe 15 – USA 15
But with a strong showing and 4 wins to 2 the scores now stand at
Europe 19 – USA 17
