The captain’s battle goes down to the wire whilst 4 games are locked up before Monday night. Team USA are really stretching their lead.

The captain’s battle

This week 9 matchup was a nail biter. The two captain’s went head to head and by the end of the Sunday games ‘Captain America’ (The FTLS Boys) had their points capped at 130.54. All ‘Team 5 Yard Rush’ (Stocks and Murf) needed from the Monday night game was 11.54 points. They eventually gained 10.60 points and fell just short of the win. The final score was 130.54-129.60 to Captain America getting one back after losing to 5 Yard Rush in week 3.

League matchups

4 games were won by the end of Sunday and the first game went the way of USA. USA’s ‘We Selected Scut Farkus’ (Shacknado – Brian) eased past a spiralling ‘Roaring Poulter’ (PittsyNFL). After starting the season on 5-0 they have now just been handed their 4th loss in a row. This win for WSSF brings the series back to 1-1 between these two teams as they move to 4-5 for the season.

Another Sunday secured win went to team the USA as ‘GoingFor2DotCom’ (Geoff) got the win over Europe’s ‘JoshPattenden7’. Both games between these teams have gone the way of the USA as Josh moves to 3-6 and GF2DCom moves on to 5-4

The 3rd game with the final result known on Sunday was the matchup between Team USA’s ‘Mr America’ (Kevin Tompkins) and Europe’s ‘Benedict Arnold’ (Gary Haddow). Mr America made sure it wasn’t a double loss and got a game back against BA. Mr America climbs to 6-3 as BA drops to 3-6 for the season.

Sunday Saviour

Europe’s ‘Marvellous McIlroy’ (Freddie ‘the franchise tag’ Hall) saved Sunday night and made sure Europe managed to get one win this week. They beat USA’s ‘JSnakeDFF (Jacob) and got one back after JSnake handed Mcllroy their first loss of the season in week 3. After a shaky middle of the season, Mcllroy goes 5-4 for the season as JSnake is now on 6-3.

The final game was Team Europe’s ‘AVFCJPS’ (James) going up against USA’s ‘Mericaaaaa F*** YEAAA’ (DrakePFSA). This one was all but over by Sunday. However, as AVFCJPS still had points to score on Monday it wasn’t quite settled yet. AVFCJPS needed a good 62 points to pull this one back. By the end, there was still 50+ points between the two teams as USA bag another win.

As things stand

After a super impressive performance by team USA in week 8 and again is week 9 team the USA are starting to pull away. The scores are now, Europe 23 – USA 31
