The Presidents Trophy is nearing a conclusion as we had the semi-finals this week. Also, on top of the teams playing for the Presidents Trophy, they are also playing for individual honours as they look to take home the MVP crown. 

Semi Final Matchups

The first semifinal was a big one. The captain’s battle had mini bragging rights attached to it as ‘Team 5 Yard Rush’ (Stocks and Murf) and ‘Captain America’ (The FTLS Boys) went head to head for the 3rd and final time of the season. Because, up until this point, the score was all square at 1-1, so not only will the winner get into the final but they would also take the mini series.  This game was a close battle but we had a winner by the end of Sunday. Team Europe were the first team to get a team into the final as Team 5 Yard Rush got the win, 150-142. The FTLS Boys will now go into the 3rd placed Playoff. 

Semi Final 2 went all the way to the wire and needed the Monday night game to decide a winner. ‘Mericaaaaaa F*** YEAAA’ (DrakePFSA) had the lead before the Monday night gane. It was 152-134 which gave Europe’s ‘AVFCJPS (James) a lot to do to get the win. Eventually MFY came out on top and progress to the big Final winning 165-144. The win takes the mini series between these two teams to 2-1 to MFY. 

Consolation bracket

The remaining teams were all fighting it out for overall positions and the remaining bonus points. 

The first matchup is USA’s ‘Mr America’ (Kevin Tompkins) taking on fellow USA team member ‘JSnakeDFF (Jacob). This game was over on Sunday night and JSnake moved on to battle for the 5th place points as Mr America will now battle in the 7th place game. This game finished 144-132. 

The other game to work out who joins JSnake in the 5th place battle was between two Europe teams.  ‘Marvellous McIlroy’ (Freddie ‘the franchise tag’ Hall) battled it out with  ‘Roaring Poulter’ (PittsyNFL). This game hung in the balance and needed Monday night to find a winner. And because of that, before Monday’s game, the score sat it 120-119. Mcllroy finally pulled off the win beating Poulter 178-169

Losers Bracket

For the final 4 we have a 2 week final. Weeks 14 and 15 determine the positions for 9th down to 12th. 

In the 9th place game we have two teams from Team USA going head to head. ‘GoingFor2DotCom’ (Geoff) and (Shacknado – Brian). As things stand going into the final week Brian has the lead 108-105.

The final showdown and battling it out for 11th and 12th is Europe’s ‘Benedict Arnold’ (Gary Haddow) and ‘JoshPattenden7’. As things stand after week 14, the score is in favour of Josh, winning the first matchup 149-76.
