Presidents Trophy Gameweek Review final whistle

Presidents Trophy – Week 10 review – Europe Fights Back

The USA take a win and Europe take 2 on Sunday night.

Three games were decided before the Monday game, two were hanging in the Ballance and one game was all but over.

Week 11 – The Captains

Team ‘Captain America’ (The FTLS Boys) took on Europe’s ‘Roaring Poulter’ (PittsyNFL) in the first matchup of the week. Last time round Poulter grabbed the point but this week the matchup was all but over for them by the end of Sunday night. Captain America was ahead going into Monday night with far more potential to extend the lead. In the end, Captain America pulled away to get the win which levels the season record between these two teams and brings them level on a 6-5 record.

Europe’s captain ‘Team 5 Yard Rush’ (Stocks and Murf) once again had a tough battle this week as they took on USA’s ‘JSnakeDFF (Jacob). This game went down to the wire And needed Monday night to give us a clear winner. Eventually, Europe got the win by 16 points. This takes the 5 Yard Rush boys to 5-6 and gives them a boost in the playoff race. With one game to go, JSnake confirms a playoff spot.

Week 11 – Team Member Matchups

The first point of the week went to team Team Europe’s ‘Benedict Arnold’ (Gary Haddow) as they had the lead going into Monday night. With all of USA’s ‘We Selected Scut Farkus’ (Shacknado – Brian) players already played, it was just a case of how many BA won by. The final score was 164-128 as both teams are now on 4-7 for the season. They sit just outside the playoffs with one game to go and one game out.

Next up, two teams who lead their team’s divisions. Facing each other were team USA’s ‘Mericaaaaaa F*** YEAAA’ (DrakePFSA) and Europe’s ‘Marvellous McIlroy’ (Freddie ‘the franchise tag’ Hall). This game was over by Sunday night and Mcllroy got a clean sweep over MFY during the regular season as team Europe take their second early point. The win confirms a playoff spot got Mcllroy and the first of Team Europe. MFY on 7 wins also has a playoff spot.

Josh’s demise

The next matchup between USA’s ‘Mr America’ (Kevin Tompkins) and Europe’s ‘JoshPattenden7’ was close all through Sunday then the wonders of the Chiefs took Mr America over the line and got an early point back for the USA. This game confirmed two things, Mr America is now in the playoffs as Josh is eliminated and will be playing to make sure no minus points are going his way in the consolation bracket.

The final matchup was between Team USA’s ‘GoingFor2DotCom’ (Geoff) and Europe’s ‘AVFCJPS (James). 8 points separated the two teams before the Monday night game and so everything was still to play for. Eventually, AVFCJPS ran away with a 40 point lead to take the point for Europe. These two teams are now on 5-6 for the season but as things stand AVFCJPS are out of the playoffs and GF2DCom take the last playoff spot.

USA hold a good lead but all to play for

Team Europe took a few games back with a good 4 points this week and after week 11 the scores are:
Europe 30 – USA 36
Europe needs one more big push for the final game of the season or will find it tough to come back as the USA will look to push on and gain more of a lead heading into the playoffs.
