President’s Trophy – Gameweek Preview

It’s been a back and forth affair between the two teams as we hit the halfway point of the prestigious President’s Trophy tournament. Team Europe have a slight lead of only 2 points. Here is a quick rundown of how things stand.

As we move onto the back 9 here are the week 7 matchups. 

Week 7- The Captains

We start the week preview as always with the captain’s games. First up Team ‘Captain America’ (The FTLS Boys) go up against Europe’s ‘Marvellous McIlroy’ (Freddie ‘the franchise tag’ Hall). The first meeting saw a close 10 point game between these two teams with Mcllroy taking the W. 

For team Europe, captain ‘Team 5 Yard Rush’ (Stocks and Murf) go up against USA’s ‘We Selected Scut Farkus’ (Shacknado – Brian). Week 1 saw Europe win in a one sided match. This time round it looks like it should be a lot more evenly fought. 

Week 6 Team Member Matchups 

Europe’s ‘Benedict Arnold’ (Gary Haddow) started the season with a lot pressure to perform. It was a shaky start but has managed to gain 2 wins recently. This week’s matchup is against USA’s ‘GoingFor2DotCom’ (Geoff). When these two first met it was ridiculously close as Geoff took the win 140.98-140.62. 

USA’s ‘Mericaaaaa F*** YEAAA’ (DrakePFSA) goes up against Europe’s ‘JoshPattenden7’. Josh is on a 2 game winning streak heading into this weekend. The spoils went the way of USA in this matchup in week 1. 

USA’s ‘JSnakeDFF (Jacob) looks to keep the losing streak going for Europe’s ‘Roaring Poulter’ (PittsyNFL). After a 5-0 start Poulter received their first L of the season. JSnakeDFF look to take revenge after the week 1 loss.

On a high after handing Poulter their first loss of the season, ‘Mr America’ (Kevin Tompkins) faces a tough battle against Europe’s ‘AVFCJPS’ (James) in our final matchup. Mr America took the win in a 3 point game in week 1 and are hoping to get a clean sweep over AVFCJPS in week 7. 

Halfway standings

After a crazy first half of the season both teams have taken the lead at some point. But with a strong showing in week 6, Europe hold a slender lead as the scores are Europe 19 – USA 17. Could they be the ones to sneak ahead and claim that President’s Trophy?
