Start ‘Em / Sit ‘Em Week 4
I hope you have managed to dust yourself off from week 3, when asked to describe that week in 3 words from a fantasy perspective: unpredictable, fun and painful sums it up nicely! Consider this…The combination of Russell Wilson, Aaron Jones, Joe Mixon, Alvin Kamara, Justin Jefferson, Tyreek Hill, D.J Moore, Darren Waller and the Chargers D/ST scored the same amount as just Lamar Jackson!! So, if you secured a week 3 dub, I tip my hat to you. Anyway, the season keeps rolling, so let’s move on to Start ‘Em / Sit ‘Em Week!
Let’s Go!
Start ‘Em and Sit ‘Em Week 4 Quarterbacks
My top-ranked Quarterbacks for Week 4 are:
- Allen @ BAL
- Hurts vs JAX
- Jackson vs BUF
- Herbert @ HOU
- Burrow vs MIA
Start QB 1- Jared Goff vs SEA
I like this match-up for Goff at home, the Seahawks are giving up an average of 17.7 fantasy points to opposing QBs, this feels like Goff’s floor.
Start QB 2- Trevor Lawrence @ PHI
Lawrence is looking like the prospect we were all raving about during his draft process. Coaching can make all the difference, out with the old and in with the new revived Doug Pederson who will have a point to prove against the Eagles. The matchup is a tough one but T-Law will need to throw to keep up.
Sit QB 1 – Carson Wentz @ DAL
Sacked 9 times last week, Carson heads to divisional rivals to face another dangerous pass rush. Sit and move on!
Sit QB 2 – Derek Carr vs DEN
The Broncos are only allowing 13 fantasy points to opposing QBs and Carr hasn’t set the world on fire yet. His opening 3 games have been decent opposition for him, this will be a true test.
Start ‘Em and Sit ‘Em Week 4 Running Backs
My top-ranked Running Backs for Week 4 are:
- Taylor vs TEN
- McCaffrey vs ARI
- Barkley vs CHI
- Chubb @ ATL
- Ekeler @ HOU
Start RB 1- Dameon Pierce vs LAC
I’d say the breakout happened, he is back on the start list because he had 2 fumbles last week. Don’t panic, start him in week 4 as the Chargers have the 7th worst record against the rush and are allowing an average of 26 points to running backs per game.
Start RB 2- Rhamondre Stevenson @ ATL
The match-up is decent and with Stevenson out snapping Harris I feel a breakout is around the corner, it could be against the Falcons in week 4.
Start RB 3- Breece Hall @ PIT
The Steelers are allowing an average of 26 points to opposing running back groups and Hall’s usage when very promising in week 3. He could have a huge game this week.
Also bear in mind that if Dalvin Cook misses you can start Mattison, with Swift out you can start Jamaal Williams and with Montgomery out you can start Khalil Herbert.
Sit RB 1- Miles Sanders @ JAX
The worry of a triple-headed monster in the Eagles backfield is becoming real and that’s without the running threat from the Jalen Hurts. The Eagles are evolving into a decent passing team too which has shifted from last year thanks to the arrival of A.J Brown and the emergence of DeVonta Smith and Hurts as a passer.
Sit RB 2 – Clyde Edwards-Helaire
His touchdown saved him in week 3, the usage is unreliable with only 12 touches last week. He faces a brutal matchup this week, the Bucs are the best against the rush.
Sit RB 3 – Cam Akers @ SF
Though 3 games Akers totals 17 fantasy points and is heavily being out-snapped by the trusted Henderson. The 49ers have one of the better run-stopping defences in the league, it’s hard too but you should sit him here.
Start ‘Em and Sit ‘Em Week 4 Wide Receivers
My top-ranked Wide Receivers for Week 4 are:
- Kupp @ SF
- Diggs @ BAL
- Chase vs MIA
- St. Brown vs SEA
- Hill @ CIN
Start WR 1- Drake London vs CLE
London has hit the ground running in the first 3 games of his rookie season and that should continue against the Browns in week 4. The Cleveland DBs are underachieving, it’s allowing 186 yards and 40 fantasy points to wide receiver groups per game.
Start WR 2- DeVonta Smith vs JAX
I believe that having A.J. Brown out there is benefiting Smith, the Eagles passing game has improved so much from last season, and Jalen Hurts is getting it done as both a rusher and a passer this year. Smith exploded last week with 8 receptions, 169 yards and a touchdown. The matchup is good this week and I expect things to continue for him.
Start WR 3- Russell Gage vs KC
Against the Packers, Gage had to step up as the Bucs receiver core was banged up and he delivered with 12 receptions and 87 yards. Julio Jones and Chris Godwin are both limited in practice if they miss you can start Gage again as the matchup is decent.
Sit WR 1- DeVante Parker vs GB
The stars aligned for Parker in week 3 against a poor Ravens secondary, Mac Jones was forced to find with Jacobi Meyers being out for the game. Mac Jones is out with a high ankle sprain; Brian Hoyer is under centre and the Packers secondary has proven to be a step up from the Ravens so far.
Sit WR 2- Allen Robinson III @ SF
I wonder if the Stafford elbow injury is still lingering from the preseason, he just hasn’t looked like himself in my opinion. Robinson was paid to play in LA but things have got off to a quiet start for him, the matchup is a brutal one, and the 49ers are ranked as the second best against wideouts this season.
Sit WR 3 – Brandon Aiyuk @ LAR
If you have had to start Aiyuk this season you will know that he has returned flex / WR 3 value so far. Whilst the targets have been ok, he hasn’t had the receptions to elevate his game. He faces the Rams and I feel that Jalen Ramsey will have something to say about Aiyuk’s production in week 4.
Start ‘Em and Sit ‘Em Week 4 Tight Ends
My top-ranked Tight Ends for Week 4 are:
- Andrews vs BUF
- Kelce @ TB
- Goedert vs JAX
- Waller vs DEN
- Kittle vs LAR
Start TE 1- David Njoku @ ATL
I’m not normally one to follow the previous week’s production but in this instance, I feel safe. Njoku looked awesome, with 10 targets, 9 receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown. The Falcons are second worst when defending the TE position.
Start TE 2- Tyler Conklin @ PIT
Conklin finds himself ranked 4th among TEs through 3 weeks, this may just be because of Flacco and we have to remember that Zac Wilson is back this week. For me, he is worth putting in your line-up. The matchup is decent, and the Steelers allowed Njoku to have a day in week 3.
Sit TE 1- Irv Smith Jnr @ NO
The ball is being shared around too much for my liking. He has 7 receptions on the year and he is only averaging around 50% of the snaps. Plus, the Saints are ranked 2nd best when defending opposing TE groups.
Sit TE 2- Tyler Higbee @ SF
Higbee is heading into a 3 week stretch where his matchups are going to be tough for the 6’6” Tight End. I have him just outside my top 12 for this week. Sit if you can.
