After a dominant week 4 from team USA, week 5 gave us a crazy gameweek. Both Team Europe and Team USA bagged a Sunday win before the Monday night game but the rest all hung in the ballance.

Team USA got a point when ‘We Selected Scut Farkus’ (Shacknado – Brian) was handed the win even with players to play. Europe’s ‘Benedict Arnold’ (Gary Haddow) had every player play by the end of Sunday and found themselves 15 points behind with WSSF still looking to score more points. Benedict Arnold drops to 1-4 for the season as WSSF go to 3-2.

Team Europe picked up their first point after ‘AVFCJPS (James) grabbed a Sunday win. Both AVFCJPS and USA’s team of ‘GoingFor2DotCom’ (Geoff) had all their players play by the end of Sunday and so the score finished 163-108 in Europe’s favour handing GF2DCom their 2nd loss in a row. AVFCJPS go 3-2 as GF2DCom also move to 3-2.

Week 5 – The Captains

To start the week we look at probably the game of the week. Team ‘Captain America’ (The FTLS Boys) took on the only undefeated team of the league as they faced ‘Roaring Poulter’ (PittsyNFL) from Team Europe. After the Sunday games, the score was close. 150 for Roaring Poulter and 157 for Captain America. Both teams still had players to play but after a nail-biting finish, team Europe get the point and Poulter is still unbeaten for the season. The score finished 178-166.

Europe’s captain ‘Team 5 Yard Rush’ (Stocks and Murf) had a tough battle this week as they went up against USA’s ‘JSnakeDFF (Jacob). Just like the other captains game, this one was close after Sunday. 5 Yard Rush had a small lead with a score of 135 against JSnakeDFF’s 121. The weekday games were enough for JSnake to sneak a win in the end. The final score was 155-146.

Remaining Team Member Matchups

With the scores 2-2 so far here are the remaining matchups.

Next up, two 2-2 teams faced each other as team USA’s ‘Mericaaaaaa F*** YEAAA’ (DrakePFSA) went up against Europe’s ‘Marvellous McIlroy’ (Freddie ‘the franchise tag’ Hall). The projection for this game was super close and it lived up to it. USA’s MFY had the lead after Sunday but had used all their players. They had a 30 point lead with 2 games to play. Eventually, the final score ended MFY 158 to Mcllroys 172, ending Mcllroys 2 game losing streak to get back on track.

The final matchup was between USA’s ‘Mr America’ (Kevin Tompkins) and Europe’s ‘JoshPattenden7’. Josh came into this game without a win and needed some luck to get his first point for team Europe. Luck was trying it’s hardest when Josh started Joe Burrow and got 2.32 points, Mr America started Matt Ryan and got 5.94 points. Mr America came out of the Sunday games having everyone play so finished on a score of 116. Josh just needed 11 points from the two remaining games. Wednesday morning saw huge celebrations as Josh got his first win of the season as the score finished 127-116.

With the final two games going to Europe, Team Europe win the gameweek 4-2.
