lock it down- Week Ten WR/CB matchups

Time to Win – Lock it down – Week Four

Well, well, well. The first hat trick of the year. All three selections went well for this column and poorly for your Fantasy teams in week three Rush Nation. Week three was 100% a win for Team 5 Yard Rush. With the Titans and Steelers now on their bye-week because of COVID there are fewer players to choose from. Of those guys missing it would have been only Corey Davis who may have made it into this list with just how well the Steelers D is playing right now.

Here is how the week went for my three selections, the scoring will be 0.5 PPR.

Results

  • DJ Moore – WR 50 – 7.5 Fantasy Points = Win
  • Hollywood Brown – WR 95 – 2.3 Fantasy Points = Win
  • Odell Beckham – WR 47 – 7.9 Fantasy Points = Win

Moore only caught two of his four targets on Sunday. He managed to get the most from those two targets yardage wise by clocking 65 yards off the catches. With the Panthers leading the game and Teddy B clock managing the game Moore wasn’t needed as much as we thought he might be.

Brown was only targeted six times in Baltimore’s shock loss to KC on Monday night. He hauled in just two of those targets for a meagre 13 yards. Jackson overshot him on a deep ball that would have made his night better but regardless it wouldn’t have been a blockbuster of a game for Brown either way.

I did say OBJ could vanish and he almost did. The way Cleveland is now a run-first offence means Beckham isn’t being targeted enough to see him pop off. He caught four of his six targets for 59 yards in the win over Washington.

Week Four Selections

DJ Moore Vs The Cardinals

DJ Moore is undoubtedly a threat for this team. That, however, isn’t stopping me from having my first back to back player picked in the series. It’s normally OBJ who gets the tough end of the stick in this series but I’ve moved on from that dead horse.

The Cardinals are allowing a league 2nd lowest FPPG given up to opposing Wide Receivers, 15.5. They have a good defence to go along with a potent offence. Not only will the Cards be after the slow play of the Panthers but Moore has Patrick Peterson to deal with too. As a unit the Cardinals Cornerbacks are allowing just 1.64 Fantasy points per target this season and Moore will need to break off a big play to get into the top tier of Receivers this week. I have him as my WR 29 so outside WR2 territory. He has seen a lot of targets so perhaps he will get right this week but I’m not banking on it.

Julian Edleman Vs The Chiefs

Edleman had a career day in week two. He logged 179 yards off 8 catches in the loss to Seattle. Then things came crashing back down to earth last week in the win against the Raiders. He caught just two balls for 23 yards in a ground and pound win for the Pats. That’s where the real trouble is for the pass catchers in New England. The Pats pass the ball just 23 times when at home so far this season. Big Bill and Super Cam are all about the run game right now. This is killing the Wide Receivers in Foxborough. However, things could be different this week when the Chiefs come to town. Will the Pats be chasing the game agonist the reigning SB Champs?

The Chiefs, however, are super tight this year against Wide Receivers. Through three games they are allowing just 14.9 Fantasy Points per Game to opposing Wide Receiver Corps. 14.9 to all pass-catchers? Is that right? Yes sir and it spells trouble for all involved when Cam is throwing the ball. I have Edelman as my WR 37 this week. I’m not a fan and could be tempted to bench him with better options out there.

Any Eagles Wide Receiver Vs The 49ers

Short, sharp and to the point. The Eagles suck right now. Whatever is happening in Philly is miles away from what was going on there at the time of the Super Bowl win. Carson Wentz is a shadow of himself right now and has thrown 6 picks in his first three games. He threw seven all last year. The whole pass-catching room is a disaster with injuries.

The 49ers are playing lights out right now despite all the injuries of their own. Kyle Shanahan is truly a mastermind. The 9ers are giving up just 17.5 FPPG and I can’t see the Eagles wideouts even getting to this number. Ertz is now the primary target for sure and if Wentz wants to be in this game then Sanders and Ertz will have to soak up targets. Maybe Gregg Ward is a sneaky play this week but don’t expect to have him win you your week.

Until next week Rush Nation, Keep Rushing.
