Top FIVE Linebackers in 2023
2023 Top Five Linebackers
In this article, I cover my top five Linebackers for the upcoming 2023 season. This is the first of three articles covering the position. Linebackers are pivotal to any successful IDP roster, whatever your scoring may be in your Fantasy league. Do not miss out on these five studs in 2023.
Roquan Smith
Traded from Chicago to Baltimore mid-season, a change of scheme could have meant a drop off in production for Smith, in 2022. This was not the case at all. Since the trade happened, Roquan has shown why he is the best Linebacker in fantasy football. The former Georgia Bulldog put up a combined 86 tackles in just nine games with his new team (169 total on the season). At only 26 years of age when the season begins and a full off-season under his belt in Baltimore, he edges the number one Linebacker spot in fantasy football.
Nick Bolton
Bolton has emerged as one of the elite fantasy producers this past season. After showing flashes of what he’s capable of, to close out the 2021 season. Bolton combined for 180 tackles in 2022, ranking second among all defensive players. At the age of only 23 to start the season and coming fresh off breaking the Chiefs single season tackle record, he is a cert for tackle production in a very competitive AFC West. Making him one of the elite Linebackers in fantasy football.
Devin White
White has put up fantastic numbers in the last three seasons. With at least 120 tackles in each, even with stacked Tampa bay front seven. White’s teammate and fellow Linebacker Lavonte David is likely to hit free agency, so more onus will now be on White to lead the defense. As well as being a productive tackler, the former fifth overall NFL Draft pick also gets to the quarterback more frequently than his Linebacker counter-parts. Registering 5.5 sacks in 2022, making Devin White a sure fire, elite Linebacker in fantasy football in 2023.
Fred Warner
Warner is as consistent as you can get at the Linebacker position, having never missed an NFL regular season game. Eclipsing at least 110 combined tackles in each of his 5 seasons. Warner has put up elite production year in and year out. He is unquestionably a top Linebacker option in fantasy football especially with fellow Linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair hitting free agency.
Foye Oluokun
Oluokun set the bar for all defensive players in 2022 with 184 combined tackles whilst being in Atlanta. Yet with a new team, under a new scheme and with Oluokun continuing to thrive, he remains a top option at Linebacker going forward. Rookie first round pick Devin Lloyd, who had an up and down campaign in 2022 and is sure to improve but Oluokun is still the leader of this Jacksonville defense. Foye is a must draft as a top five Linebacker in 2023, in any IDP league.
