No, it’s not a dream, you read the heading correctly. We are halfway through the season, and WAIVER WIRE WEEK 9 is here!
There are two things you want to be thinking about this week. First, there are six teams on bye for week 9. If you are looking for someone to fill a spot, there is a high chance that someone else in your league is looking for the same. Second, maybe you’re not needing someone this week, but the team you’re playing does. WAIVER WIRE WEEK 9 might be the week you get to step in and be the spoiler, taking the player your opponent is needing for this week.

QUARTERBACKS
JUSTIN FIELDS (CHI) 26.2% – VS. MIA
Week 8 was the second consecutive week where Justin Fields scored more than 23 FPTS in a game. He had 23 attempts for 17 completions, for 151 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also ran for 60 yards on 8 carries scoring 1 touchdown. Fields finished the day with 26.04 FPTS against the Dallas Cowboys.
Week 9 has the Miami Dolphins coming to town where they are giving up 19.62 FPTS to the Quarterback position.
MARCUS MARIOTA (ATL) 24% – VS. LAC
Marcus Mariota went 20/28 and 253 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in a tight win over the Carolina Panthers. He rushed 6 times for 43 yards, finishing the day with 22.42 FPTS. Next week they welcome the Los Angeles Chargers to town. The chargers are giving up 15.91 FPTS to the Quarterback position.
RUNNING BACKS
ISIAH PACHECO (KC) 24.7% – VS. TEN
Isiah Pacheco is coming off a bye week. In week 7 he had 43 yards on 8 rushes for 4.3 FPTS. Week 9 he faces the Tennessee Titans who are giving up 13.67 to the Running Back position.
KENYAN DRAKE (BAL) 18.4% – @NO
On Thursday night, Kenyan Drake had 7 rushes for 62 yards while catching 4 passes for 5 yards and 1 touchdown. He finished the night with 16.7 FPTS. Next week he goes against the New Orleans Saints who are giving up 16.5 FPTS to the Running Back position.
In addition, Gus Edwards injured his hamstring on Thursday night and looks to not be playing in the week 9 matchup. With the Ravens having a bye week in week 10, there is a good chance Drake gets the start and most of the carries in week 9.
WIDE RECEIVERS
KALIF RAYMOND (DET) 0.5% – VS. GB
Kalif Raymond had 3 receptions for 76 yards, finishing the day with 10.6 FPTS. The Lions travel to Green Bay to face the Packers for week 9. The Packers are giving up 18.2 FPTS to the Wide Receiver position.
MACK HOLLINS (LV) 6.4% – @JAX
Mack Hollins had 7 receptions for 64 yards against the New Orleans Saints in week 8. He finished with 13.4 FPTS. Week 9 has the Raiders going to Jacksonville to play the Jaguars who are giving up 21.46 FPTS to the Wide Receiver position.
TIGHT ENDS
TYLER CONKLIN(NYJ)16.2%-VS-BUF
Tyler Conklin had 6 receptions on 10 targets for 79 yards and 2 touchdowns. He had 25.9 FPTS for the day. The Buffalo Bills come to town for week 9. The Bills are giving up 4.9 FPTS to the Tight End position.
KICKER
WILL LUTZ(NO)9.6%-VS-BAL
Will Lutz was 1 for 2 on field goals and 3 for 3 on extra points for 5.0 FPTS on Sunday against the Raiders. They will be at home for week 9 to face the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens are giving up 7.38 FPTS to the Kicker position.

MINNESOTA VIKINGS – 9.8% – @ WC
The Vikings beat the Arizona Cardinals 34-26 in Minnesota on week 8.
They had 2 interceptions, 1 fumble recovery and 4 sacks to finish the day with 9 FPTS. Week 9 will put the Vikings traveling to Washington to face the Commanders.
