lock it down- Week Ten WR/CB matchups

Week Thirteen WR/CB matchups – Lock it down

Absolute disaster in Week 12. There was nothing good to take away from the selections I proposed for you Rush Nation. The polar opposite happened to all my takes. Sometimes you just have to accept that you were wrong. Not try to make excuses or try and understand why. I guessed which way the wind would be blowing but guessed completely wrong and the wind was well and truly taken out of my sails. So we dust ourselves off and go again, so with that being said here is my Week Thirteen WR/CB matchups i think you should be wary of after a quick Week 12 recap.

Week 12 Recap

  • Deebo Samuel – 24 Fantasy Points = LOSS
  • Justin Jefferson – 26 Fantasy Points = LOSS
  • Allen Robinson – 27 Fantasy Points = LOSS

Week 13 Selections

Tyler Boyd Vs The Dolphins

This could be all of the Bengals Wide Receivers I’m talking about in the first of the Week Thirteen WR/CB matchups. I couldn’t pick on AJ Green anymore. Tee Higgins seems to have the most rapport with Brandon Allen so Tyler Boyd was naturally the chap to recover the hammer. Boyd had a miserable outing against The Giants and only caught two of his targets for 15 yards. It was one of the worst games of his career and things aren’t looking good against one of the hottest defences right now, The Dolphins.

The Miami Dolphins are middle of the road when it comes to points allowed to the Wide Receiver position. They are 17th and allowing 23.5 Fantasy Points per Game. This would seem an ok number but when you consider how poor the Bengals looked last week it scares me. Ryan Fitzmagic is looking to get The Dolphins to the playoffs and with Tua injured this is his chance to go out in a blaze of glory. The Dolphins Defence held The Jets to three points, 260 total yards and a measly 10 first downs. Can we see them doing this sort of thing to the Bengals? I sure can. Xavien Howard is playing lights out right now and is leading the League with seven interceptions, with Allen lobbing balls up i can see him adding another one in what looks to be another torrid game for Cinci.

Jakobi Meyers Vs The Chargers

Meyers bounced back somewhat last week against The Cardinals. Meyers finished with 10.20 Fantasy Points. Not exactly the return to his high point of a few weeks back and it’s this semi-bounceback that concerns me this forthcoming week. Meyers and The Patriots head to the City of Angels to play The Chargers. The Pats only managed 84 yards in the passing game and now get to face a top 6 defence in points given up to Wide Receivers. The Bolts are allowing just 21.5 FPPG and with The Patriots not being able to get the ball moving through the air this is one of the Week Thirteen WR/CB matchups im looking to fade if at all possible.

After a dismal week 11 against The Texans where Meyers scored just 6.8 Fantasy Points some Fantasy Managers may have benched Meyers looking for the big game to put him back into their lineups. With the upturn against The Cardinals Meyers owners may be tempted to add him back in. I would hold fire if you can as Casey Hayward and Chris Harris Jr are both looking likely to play and this is secondary i want nothing to do with when picking my matchups.

Deandre Hopkins Vs The Rams

This isn’t a bench recommendation. You just can’t bench Nuke unless you have a plethora of big time Wide Receivers to choose from. Kyler Murray looks to be struggling with his injury he picked up a few weeks back and it has affected Hopkins. Nuke has now not topped 60 yards receiving in his last two games. The injury that is affecting Kyler could have improved and we could see those numbers begin to climb again for Hopkins. Starting the season Hopkins was dominant. He was over 20 Fantasy Points on the reg and was a plug and play week winner. However, he now faces a League leading Rams defense when it comes to points given up to opposing Wide Receivers. Just 17.4 FPPG, that’s not good, McCord.

In a Divisional matchup that matters for both teams i expect big things from The Rams Secondary after losing last week to the 49ers. Sean McVay will have been seething and i think The Rams win this first of two Matchups with the Cardinals. As always Nuke could explode but play him with lower expectations.

So there you have my three Week Thirteen WR/CB matchups to avoid. Let’s get into those playoffs and go win some ships.

Until next week Rush Nation, Keep Rushing.
